Our wine bar was born from a shared love of connection, community, and a really great glass of wine.
We’re Ashley and James Ratino—husband and wife, business partners, and the heart behind this space. For us, wine has always been more than what’s in the glass. It’s about slowing down, savoring moments, and gathering with people you love in a place that feels both elevated and welcoming.
Ashley’s passion for storytelling, hospitality, and thoughtful curation meets James’s steady leadership and love of building meaningful experiences. Together, we envisioned a wine bar that brings something special to downtown Westminster—a place where seasoned wine lovers and curious newcomers alike feel comfortable exploring, tasting, and learning at their own pace.
Our approach is intentional and modern. We focus on high-quality wines, many offered by the glass through innovative tasting technology, allowing guests to explore without pressure or pretense. Alongside our wine selection, we offer beer, non-alcoholic options, and carefully curated gourmet pairings designed to complement every pour.
This wine bar is deeply personal to us. It reflects our belief that hospitality should feel genuine, that luxury doesn’t have to be intimidating, and that the best conversations often happen over a shared table.

Meet the Founders
Ashley Ratino / Managing Director
Ashley is a lifelong student, creative, and hospitality professional whose path to wine has been anything but ordinary. She holds three bachelor’s degrees—a BA in Creative Writing, a BS in Genetics, and a BS in Nursing—a combination that reflects both her curiosity about the human condition and her deep respect for science, storytelling, and care. (Yes, she really does love learning that much.)
Before entering healthcare, Ashley served as the Assistant Director of a bartending school, where she also taught bartending—an early foundation in hospitality and service. She later spent many years in inpatient and outpatient neuroscience nursing, earning her CNRN (Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse) credential and caring for patients at some of their most vulnerable moments.
Today, Ashley brings that same attentiveness and precision to wine. She is WSET Level II certified and currently studying for WSET Level III, with a long-term dream of earning her WSET Diploma in Wine. Her approach to wine is thoughtful, science-informed, and rooted in curiosity—always focused on helping guests feel comfortable exploring, learning, and enjoying without intimidation.
Outside the wine bar, Ashley is an author, a proud mom of three adopted boys and the self-appointed CEO of their Dust & Vine Homestead, managing life, love, and logistics at home. Naturally, this leaves plenty of time to open a wine bar—because why not?
For Ashley, wine is where science, story, and connection meet—and she’s honored to share that passion with every guest who walks through the door.
James Ratino / Operations Director
James brings structure, precision, and a builder’s mindset to everything he does—whether that’s a construction project, a business operation, or life on the homestead. He holds a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Physics and Engineering, a background that naturally lends itself to problem-solving, systems thinking, and seeing how all the moving parts fit together. James currently works as a Construction Superintendent, where he oversees complex projects, coordinates teams and vendors, and ensures that vision becomes reality—on time and on plan.
At the wine bar, James applies that same expertise behind the scenes, supporting operations, buildout, logistics, and long-term planning. His steady leadership and practical experience provide the backbone that allows the guest experience to shine.
Outside of work, James is a devoted dad to three adopted boys and an integral part of life at Dust & Vine Homestead, where he can usually be found tackling projects, fixing what’s broken, or tending to the animals—especially the piggies, which may or may not be his favorite.
James believes that the best spaces are built with intention, care, and durability—values he brings to both the homestead and the wine bar. He’s proud to help create a place where people can gather, slow down, and feel at home.
